Lightyear Frontier is a premium adventure title created by developer Frame Break in association with Amplifier Game Invest. It is a farming simulator game set in the distant future wherein players will be cultivating farmland and building a homestead with the help of mecha exo suits.

Compared to other farming games like Farming Simulator 22 or Farm Together which offer more grounded and realistic experiences, Lightyear Frontier is more mechanical and futuristic in its approach. The result is something that mixes traditional farming practices with the conveniences brought by technological tools and methods.

Land at the edge of the galaxy

Lightyear Frontier is basically an open-world farming adventure set in the far reaches of space, and with the help of cool mech suits. Start with an empty patch of land that you will cultivate into a sustainable exofarm that will be able to grow all kinds of alien crops and flora for you to discover. Each one will have its unique growth pattern and method, which you also need to consider.

Then, there's the exploration aspect of the game which lets you roam an entire planet to discover new locations and plants to get their seeds. As you go along, you will even get to uncover hidden secrets and knowledge left behind by the ancients and past inhabitants. Gather resources to build infrastructures and machines to enable you to expand your farmland further and make upgrades to your homestead.

Speaking of improvements, you can also customize your mech suit in various ways as you like. Apart from cosmetics customization options, there is an array of tools available to you, as well as being able to research new upgrades to help with your tasks. There's even online multiplayer with up to three other players. Sadly, the game won't be available to play until spring 2023.
